Due to a reply from Nixit on a post I made on this forum I began to wonder if my car might actually be accepted in the Z32 community for what it is and has become by telling my story on this project. In 1993 I test drove a black 1991TT owned by a local Doctor, headed for the interstate and within a few minutes a brand-new mustang GT. pulled up beside me, we raced and he lost many times in the next several miles. The following afternoon I owned that Z and that was the first of 3 preceding the Peacemaker. TwinTurbo.net didn’t exist until I owned my 3rd Z32 and prior to this, mustangs often owned me because performance upgrades were few and those that existed were expensive. My 3rd Z32 was purchased only because I found this website and what I found revived my passion for the Z32. The car had a salvage title and 132000 hard miles, a testament to what a great car they are(still ran 13.99 at 102). I started planning a build of my car in sept. of 2002. I wanted a Z32 motor that on pump gas had a solid power band in the 500HP range that was indestructible (much like the factory motor), and don’t forget that the wife wants AC on the car. The forum sponsors I contacted weren’t really interested in building a long block that they could guarantee would take this kind of punishment and 1 Z32 legend (Jim Wolf) told me it wasnt a project that was feasible. I had purchased a lot of salvage parts from Russell at Z1 and new of his passion for the Z and his integrity as a person(Z1's been good to me from Rear hatch to built motor) so I gave him a call to see if he could provide me with the long block that could make my Z32 a reality. Russell called back several days later and said he would be interested but only if he could assemble the entire package and work the bugs out of it before I took the car home. I don’t know if Russell knew what he was getting into but if he did he left me out. Parts and knowledge for building a motor of this caliber are not as easy to come by as most members seem to think, although since this project was started great strides have been made and parts are much more readily available.(much credit due to the forum sponsors and this Z community).I sold my 3rd Z which was still running strong and bought a pearl yellow Z with a blown head gasket(ghey was the ttnet name for this tone of yellow hence the name Peacemaker) The project was started in Dec.2002 and Z1 has finished their commitment on the car as I write. Looks like we got a little carried away during the build but the fact is that with a few extras and some race fuel the motor turns into an 811RWHP “Dyno Queen”.Its ability to run these #’s without coming apart and withstanding all the joy riding Z1 employees did in it while misrepresenting ownership proves that I have what I wanted, a solid 500RWHP Z32that will hold up under anything I’ll ever put it thru. Z1 has accomplished what they set out to do with my car. Next week it will make the 1200 mile drive home and my wife and I are looking forward to the drive. I’m very thankful to Z1 for their diligence in seeing this project to an end.Note for those who care At SEZS4 the Peacemaker ran 12.1 at 126mph and 12.3 at 130mph on pump gas, street tires and 25 pounds of boost. It made 1 run with drag slicks after a waste gate started acting up allowing only 22 pounds of boost. This combined with driver error(Johns not a drag racer, just a Z enthusiast) produced a 13.5 I believe. As John and my son Sean would say PEACE!!
